I was really impressed with the efficiency of the service which was not only practical and helpful immediate advice but it was full of tenderness and kindness. My son felt very safe here and as a result of Vicky’s insightful analysis he now has the specific scaffolds in place that will help him not only now, but in years to come. I highly recommend using DY.

My 8 year old has been really struggling at school - we managed to get an appointment quiet quickly. Sarah assessed my daughter and was outstanding. She constantly reassured her, made her feel confident and at ease , even if my daughter couldn’t do something , the 3 hours seemed to fly by. My daughter went into the room with no confidence in her reading and writing, but after leaving she feels so much better about herself and this is all due to the way Sarah treated her which made her feel special and explained why her brain processes things differently. She made my daughter feel confident about her future and even went into detail about successful people who have dyslexia. Sarah is now putting the report together for me to pass to my daughters teachers, which will help my daughters future at school. I would give higher than 5* if I could I am that happy with the service provided.

I took my a young family member to Yorkshire Dyslexia in June and was told we would have her assessment within 4 weeks. At the end of August it had still not arrived so her parents and I chased it up. It was almost a week after that, that it arrived. There were several inaccuracies, as though they couldn't remember the child, or who brought her in, so had cobbled the report together. Her school had no time to put anything in place at the start of the term. In addition, we asked for some amendments and have not even had the courtesy of an acknowledgement, let alone amendments. It feels as though this company is happy to take your large amount of money but care little about their clients' distress. It is hard enough to have dyslexia taken seriously without the people who claim to understand it taking advantage. I would not recommend them.

UPDATE 20th October 2020

It seems after reading your reply after you requested I delete my review that Simone else also has experienced the similar experiences I had.

Regards to your claim that I had received a good standard of service I’m afraid I have to deny that. Also I had to push hard for the summary report. After reading my full report I disagree with the outcome. I had a second opinion and decided to payout a further £400 for another assessment with another company. It turns out my latest report reflects on a more accurate assessment that I feel matches my learning skills Which, turns out very different to your report. After my first assessment with YORKSHIRE DYSLEXIA I felt shameful as if I didn’t know this person I was for 43 years. This report was far from who I was. This report claimed I have a poor level of learning qualities. I have a masters in psychotherapy and in practice for 5 years. I’m now back at university doing another masters. Yes their are some learning methods needed. But, with the diagnosis that was given questioned my skill set as a psychotherapist.

My new report confirms I have a good level of learning skills.

So going back to your comment. I’m afraid I do not agree that I had a good service from you. In fact I’m completely out of pocket.

Very disappointed with this service. I was promised a summary report to help towards the support for my university. I was promised that I would have my summary report by the end of the week. I had urge the importance of having the summary report as I couldn’t wait for the 4 weeks that it takes for a full report as I need support put in place. When I chased this up with the practitioner I was told I had misunderstood and discussions were not had. Was this the obvious thing to say to blame it on the dyslexia? I went with this company as I was promised. This cost me £400. I didn’t get what I was offered and I was insulted. My partner was with me when these discussions was taken place. I find this experience to of been negative. In my opinion the client was not the main focus it was more of a business transaction. I’ve made a complaint to Yorkshire dyslexia and I have to say they were immediately on the case which was reassuring. But now you’ve complained you wonder how accurate this report will be.
