Only stayed 1 night whilst passing through and got a great price for a bed in a 6 bed dorm. Rooms and facilities were very clean and the shower was nice and hot with decent pressure. By far though, the best part of the whole experience was the wonderful, friendly staff and the incredible breakfast they cooked!

A great stay in a small and friendly more traditional style hostel which has everything you need and is very clean and comfortable and good value. The staff are fantastic, so friendly and helpful and really make you feel welcome - they were very knowledgable about the local area. Full English breakfast freshly cooked to order was very good. Great location for lovely walks straight from the hostel door. Hathersage has plenty of places to eat and basic shops, plus 3 churches and a lovely outdoor swimming pool and cutlery factory! It is easily accessible by train and also has reasonable bus links.

This was my first visit to YHA Hathersage, although I have frequented many other hostels in the past and it lived up to the standard I expect from the YHA and their staff. A small hostel on the edge of the village it is ideally placed for the local amenities all the Peak District National Park with all that has to offer. The accommodation is good and well cared for and as well as providing breakfast if required there is a fully supplied self catering kitchen. I would fully recommend staying there and I will certainly be returning sometime soon.

Stayed overnight recently, staff were really friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about the local area. The whole hostel was spotless, self catering kitchen was well equipped, and there was a lovely little dining area. |And the showers were fantastic!|The hostel itself is in a great location, just a couple of minutes walk to the centre. A real gem ?

Out party had hired Mankinholes as exclusive hire but there was a burst pipe on the day we were due to go and so Mankinholes was off. Staff at YHA acted quickly and found us another hostel at Hathersage, about the same distance away. This review is as much about the great response of the YHA and the manager of Hathersage Hostel, as the facilities. Hathersage was actually shut for refurbishment, but Stacey, the Manager, worked really hard , at very short notice, to get it ready for us. She met us when we arrived and was so warm and welcoming, we felt that our 3 night Christmas break with 5 children would be great. We do an exclusive hire every December so we can all get together as a family with room for the children to play together. Facilities are what you would expect from a hostel. Clean and basic, but what more do you need. On this occasion, bit was the helpfulness of all the YHA staff pulling together that saved our Christmas

The Hostess, Stacey was fantastic. Really friendly, kind and helpful whicg made my stay enjoyable. The room was far too expensivea though at £70 for one room, especially on minday with is a weejday and not a weekend. The room shoukd not have cist me any more than about £25 to £27 cobsidering it was a room with bunk beds in it. I can stay in a luxury riom in another hostel with a double bed for just £40. It was difficult ti park there in the location because it is an old Histwl with few parking spaces. I havw based my 5 star review on servuce.

Hathersage YHA is an excellent location so you can walk out to all the local pubs & go out hiking (did not use the car). Parking is limited at the YH. Staff are very helpful & friendly and the cooked breakfast yummy. Self catering kitchen loads of space to make breakfast/lunch. ||Bedrooms ideally need to be refurbished. We stayed in the 2 bed en-suite, beds comfy & sheets nice, no wardrobes & only 2 hooks, no shelves next to beds. So all our bags on the floor. ||Also the bright green light in the ceiling is annoying so we had to cover with crisp packets & stickers. So would you bring suggest black paper & tape.

The hostel is a little dilapitated, it has had its refit/decorating delayed but now is in the process , albeit it slowly. Its a great location on the edge of town for some fab walks, pubs, openair swimming pool and train station. Further afield there are many walks, places to visit.||We stayed two nights in the very hot weather so brought out own fan which got us through the hot nights. ||Friendly, helpful staff .
