This garden was such a lovely surprise; I hadn't expected the gardens to be so extensive. In addition to beautiful flowering borders there were mature trees, woodland paths, ponds, statues and more to explore. Allow at least two hours for a good wander round; you might want a break part way through so the little outside cafe /converted horse box in the courtyard serves a welcome selection of hot and cold drinks and a few cakes, but it's only open on certain days. Entry is a £5 charge through the honesty box, so remember to take the right change. Parking is free. Well worth a visit.

An absolutely lovely walk through the origins of Christmas with great characters and beautiful lights and scenery.
Plenty of lovely food and drink stalls from mulled wine to pizza around and open fire.
Aimed at the kids but excellent for the parents as well.
Loved it. Give it a go!!

A delightful garden and arboretum to stroll through. The owners have encouraged partial wild plants to grow. I imagine that when the wild garlic flowers it will smell fantastic. Views of the countryside along the footpaths.
Coffee kiosk is alongside the fishpond so the kids can watch them.
It is a shame they haven't made more use of the greenhouse.
Pay in cash via an honesty box.

Well maintained gardens, plenty of little niche's to explore. You have to pay a contribution on entry, but it is well worth it.check opening times as the garden's aren't open everyday. They also cater for functions and weddings.

Lovely gardens and woodland to explore. Picnic tables available. Small choice of drinks and snacks at admission desk. Toilets on site but would benefit from an upgrade. Worth a visit but only open on certain days in the year. Good parking and good views.

Interesting place. Big grounds to walk around, quiet and peaceful. However it had a kind of genteel neglect feel about the place. I don't know if it was the time of year, or to do with the heatwave, but most flowers had gone over and there didn't seem to be any effort to have something to replace them or dead head etc. The pond had a thick layer of algae over it and in general the place didn't feel like it was being managed.

We still had a nice time, and I imagine it was much more colourful a month ago, so it may have just been bad timing.

The £5 entry fee seemed about right. (Cash only)

A visit for the truly epic Halloween garden walk. Love actors bring the fantastically decorated gardens to life - all in character throughout. Too many favourite parts to include! Parking is easy on the huge field, there’s good toilets and lots of stalls during the event offering food. A warm fire Kees you cozy on the queue. You’ll go around in a small group, making it all the more fun (and a bit scary!)
