Excellent lunch with attentive service from the friendly landlord. Great to see some alternative options on the menu — it made a welcome change from the all-too-frequent pub offerings that come out of a box. Our meals were freshly prepared in a professional manner and priced extremely reasonably. Great collection of teapots too!

My wife and I visited the Tynte Arms with my 13 year old son last Thursday as it was within walking distance from the secret valley glamping site where we were staying. The pub is charming and full of character. I cannot praise the food or quality of service high enough. It was proper home cooking, delicious and excellent value for money. It’s a shame that we were returning home the following day, as we would have certainly gone back, and will return in the future.

Good home cooked food at a very reasonable price. Especially from the Lunch Menu.
Pâté on Toast with Red Onion Chutney.
A Trio of Cumberland Sausages on Mash
Steak and Stilton Pie on Mash
Fish and Chips
Lemon 🍋 Panacotta
Summer Fruits Cheesecake
Bit of a hidden gem as most people just drive by.
We will be definitely will be back.

A true hidden gem. Pub (building) dates back to 1848 and has been a tresured part of the area since. Time capsule original interior, featuring a lovely bar. Wide range of drinks, good homemade food, and rooms available, too.

It's worth seeking this one out. 👌

Brilliant pub in a nice tucked away area. Owner was very welcoming and kind, 5* service. We really enjoyed our drinks and meal there and could not believe the value for money, contrary to some of the reviews on Google. All I can say is, take little notice of all the bad reviews. After all it is the Daily mail that they’ve been reading, known for it’s truth and reason…

Owner very welcome but sadly it stops at that . Exmoor ale pint had a strong taste of vinegar , chose a Guiness for free sadly this also tasted of vinegar ( looking at google this shows the lines possibly has bacteria and not cleaned out properly and dangerous to your health ) . £14 for 2 courses was just about ok but not that impressed . Lovely to go back to a place that hasn’t changed for 30 years but it smells musty . Sadly I will not be going back , also they they turned the lights out to kick us out but online shows they are open all day
