"We came here today with my Dad & step mum who is recovering from surgery. We booked a table while travelling over the moors towards Princetown, and on arrival, our table was waiting. Served by friendly attentive staff, our order was soon taken, and after a short wait, our freshly prepared food was brought to our table. Food was very tasty, well presented and hot, which was nice as outside the temperature was just above freezing."

Washed down with a large pot of tea, full & and contented, we headed out in snow flurries for our journey home. Highly recommended will definitely be back once again.

Are you planning to visit Dartmoor? - The Old Police Station cafe is a must on your Dartmoor itinerary!
We’re regular visitors of Dartmoor National Park and this Lovely cafe is in the middle of Prince Town, “renowned for its friendly service, good food and stunning location”.
Our fourth visit to the cafe, the experience was great each time. This visit, family ordered large battered fish & chips and chocolate sundae. It was perfect! However, I am still awaiting to taste a traditional roast on the menu as they run out of beef roast & Yorkshire pudding quickly. I can’t wait for our next visit here.

We just had take away chips and they were gorgeous, freshly made to order for us, the are blanch fried first then cooked in vegetable oil. There is seating both inside and out with a varied snack style menu. Inside devour is a bit dated but functional. Outside areas have had a makeover and look very appealing. Friendly staff not great for wheelchairs. Cash or credit accepted. Good value portion of chips £2.50

This is a very busy cafe and I can see why. I had the turkey roast dinner and a part from the roast potatoes being the type you get out of the freezer (they were still very nice) it was a fantastic dinner. The veg was nicely cooked and so sweet. The turkey was delicious. The Yorkshire pudding was good and of a normal size. The gravy also had a decent flavour. Would definitely come again if I am staying near here.

Lovely staff and great cream teas, plus very dog friendly. However you can't avoid your clothes smelling of cooking (bacon and chips) when you leave. Not to be helped I guess when the windows are all closed and the kitchen extraction was not working well.

This place is so bloody surprising. We walked in and were tempted to walk out, ‘cause it looked so dated. The other half said “I kinda like the outdated look of the place” so we went in. Boy were we surprised. I ordered large (don’t get small, large isn’t large) cod and chips with mushy peas and the other half ordered a roast dinner (at 16:00 on a Tuesday). We discussed how it could easily disappoint and waited to see what turned up. This place has a chippy attached to it so the cod and chips HAD to be good - it was. The roast dinner claimed fresh vegetables, which we doubted, but they were. Roast potatoes seem frozen but still tasted ok. Our plates were both absolutely cleared.

Listed as a motorbike cafe the parking was in a pay car park nearby although motorbikes were free. We didn't eat but perused the menu which was typical cafe food. They did do take away fish and chips though. The decor was fairly used nothing outstanding although the loo's were up to date. Right next to a well tended green , sitting outside on a nice day would be a good people watching spot.

Gorgeous little cafe, fabulous service by very friendly staff, very reasonable prices and the food is really good. We had a cream tea, the scones were fresh, warm and big, a really good cream tea all round. Can highly recommend this little gem of a cafe!
