After taking my car in for a recall on a part they performed a ‘health check’ and advised me that I needed rear brake pads urgently at their cost of £334. I declined and took it to my usual garage for a second opinion. They confirmed as I thought I’d had new ones just last year and they still have over 50% left on. It seems their technicians work on bonuses and I wouldn’t use this garage for any work.

After having my car for 4 days and having an mot and a full 8000 mile service my car was returned to myself. Took my car out the following day and the engine amber alarm was illuminated constantly. Went back to stratstone where service was performed and told to use my warranty or book it back in for fault finding in June at the earliest. So after paying 800 pound I now have a car with an engine fault alarm and unable to drive it until sorted out. I will now have to pay for another garage to ascertain what has happened to my car whilst in the care of stratstone Durham. DISGUSTED in the attitude of the garage after taking my money and returning a car not fit to drive. Looking for another garage now. More money spent.

Can I just say a big thank you to Chloe and the team for the great customer service they gave today when leaving my car for its 4 year service. All went well, and I really appreciated the use of a courtesy car for the duration. Also took advantage of staggering payment over 6 months. Brilliant!

All the team at Stratstone Houghton are very friendly and efficient. We had a very tricky fault that was difficult to diagnose and fix. We were given superb customer service by Helen who kept us informed every step of the way. She was a shining light and an a absolute pleasure to deal with. She give us fantastic customer service and provided excellent communication updates on progress. Thank you so much Helen. Special mention also to James (vehicle technician) who we never met but we know did not leave any stoned unturned in his determination to fix our car, thank you James. Also last but not least Steve who also worked with James and Helen to get our car back on the road, thank you Steve. A great team.

Great modern facility. Easy to get in & out with lots of parking plus drive through pick-up/drop-off facility for when weather bad. Staff attentive and friendly. Comfortable waiting area with good refreshments on offer. Update: staff were brilliant today when I called in for technical help with features of infotainment system I couldn't get to grips with. Friendly & helpful & I didn't even have an appointment. Top marks today.

With a long journey to do & an amber warning on the dash, At short notice Brian & Deb helped me to get my car to the garage (with a 2 & 3 year old & 1 family car it can be a struggle) so off to a great start. Diagnostics completed the work was carried out same day & my car back to me by John (something he didn’t have to do) for a long journey tomorrow.. I was kept informed throughout & Brian helped in locating my extended warranty documentation so my bill was not what I expected either.. Really thankful for the teams efforts today & great to know my local Jaguar service centre will go to such lengths.. 100% recommend
