We loved everything about the trip to St Michael's Mount. From the parking, ability to book everything online in very short notice, and the very helpful staff when we arrived, this was just amazing. We booked the boat out for 11:00 on Friday morning and arrived early so that we could plot out what was happening. Spoke with a wonderfully helpful gentleman in a blue vest to inform us there would be no boat today, but we were able to walk across the causeway that was currently underwater to get to the island. Hidden pointed at about 100 feet of causeway that was sticking out of the water in another thousand feet that were underwater. It was just an amazing sight. The master self has all the tourist amenities you would expect. The walk up the hill to the castle is a little daunting, especially if conditions are damp, older people may want to think twice about that one. We braved the trip to the top, and we're just amazed by the beautiful interiors and the amazing exterior views that we could have available. Most awesome was looking back down the causeway we just walked across to get there. this was on a list of places we really hoped to go on this trip, and we were not even slightly disappointed. Make this a must stop watch their website if you can use the causeway to so but if you need to take the boat to get out at least you have an excellent trip to visit a really amazing place.

Very nice day trip. Castle is unique and very beautiful. Pretty strenuous hike to the top (front door.) And to the gardens. You will need to be in decent shape to do either. LOTs of steps and they are not level. Would recommend wearing supportive shoes. There is no elevator for handicap. If hot, would bring water. If pushing a stroller, keep in mind your child will have a very bumpy ride and the stroller maybe difficult to push over the uneven rocks or in pee gravel areas along all the paths to get to and from ? castle.

It's worth the visit. Strongly recommend going on a day when low tide is relatively early in the morning and getting across as soon as you can as there are no real limits on how many people they let across and it can get very busy. The castle/home itself is quite nice. Really enjoyed the gardens. Many people take picnics etc and spend the day there. Would like to do that myself next time.

Had a wonderful visit here, you can walk across the Causeway at low tide or catch the ferry st high, which costs around £2.50. The walk up to the house on the other side of the island is steep and quite rough. There's plenty of hand railings to help you out, but it might be a challenge if you have mobility issues.

The castle is stunning and has lots of rooms to explore with lovely views from all the windows. All the staff and volunteers are really friendly and helpful.

If you're going while the tide is up you'll be taken by boat which you have to pay for, all the information is on the website while you book your tickets I do recommend you go on the boat as its a lot of fun.
Views from the castle are amazing !! ?
Once you go inside the castle, there's a lot to see but no flash photography. There are also people you can ask questions from, and they are more than happy to talk to you.
Coming back, I didn't have to go on the boat as the tide was low, so you could walk through the stoney path, which was also pretty cool.

With us visiting in winter we were aware that the castle and church would be closed. However, we wanted to walk across the causesay to visit the harbour, shop and cafe. The NT visitor exhibition on the history of the Mount was also very interesting.

We visited on a day when the visiting hours were curtailed because of weather conditions, but it was enough time for an excellent visit to the castle. We found the visit really interesting. The path up to the castle is very uneven so if you have difficulties walking you will have trouble getting up there. We finished the trip with a cream tea - really nice.
The boat trip over was efficient but interesting with the waves making getting in an out of the boat a challenge.

We planned on visiting a couple of years ago whilst holidaying in Cornwall. However, the site is closed on Saturdays, which didn't work out with the plans that we had already made. During a trip to Cornwall, we ensured that we visited on Sunday this time instead and bought tickets in advance as we weren't sure how busy it would be. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great when we did visit but on the plus side it was fairly quiet with no queues, however it did make the steep access road and steps very slippery. The site informed us via email prior to attending that due to the weather, they would be closing early and that the only access would be via the causeway as the seas were too rough for the boat transfers. They did state that a full refund would be given or we could attend on an alternative date if this didn't suit us but as we were in the area we decided to just brave the rain which actually did clear up as we were on the island. The site is a must-see when you are in the area with plenty to see and do with an abundance of knowledgeable staff on hand to assist and to tell the story of the island and its structures. Would definitely recommend it.
