The team was Helpful and encouraging. Nice and friendly service. Even the shop is on the high street, I was advised to park on a suitable place without paying, very convenient. The optician checked the eyes thoroughly and more detail than I expected. The lady Daniela was friendly and encouraging while I was confused with different types of the lenses and frames. I am happy to recommend to my friends who need.

This was a first visit and I was really impressed with the service provided. I received a warm welcome, and each phase of the appointment was described in detail. The optician was extremely polite and thorough in explaining each stage and I felt confident that the advice given was truthful.

I booked an eye test at Specsavers Purley on the recommendation of my dad because he's been there before and he said that the staff are great and that they looked after him.
I booked an appointment because I found that I was having trouble seeing things over short distance and that when looking at screens or illuminated objects that my vision was blurry.
I got a call last night to confirm that I was still attending and was asked why I needed to come and see them because of my of Autism I got confused and I started talking about my Uveitis, the woman immediately interrupted me and said that she was going to cancel my appointment because I needed a eye health care appointment. I tried to explain to her that that wasnt the case so she put the phone down on me.
My dad had to call back as my advocate and explain that I was having problems with blurriness and short sightedness and that I needed to have an eye test because he was concerned.

I turned up today and the lady that I spoke to was there and she did the tests but when she gave the paperwork to the optician (as I can lip read due to my hearing) she was there telling him about the call yesterday and that if my eyes were bad that I needed to come back for a Health Care Appointment. When I went into the room with him, he started asking me questions and started steering the conversation towards the hospital and my uveitis, (I never mentioned my uveitis or the hospital) and I told him that I was discharged last week and the reason why I was here was unrelated.

I went outside on the shop floor and he said to go and start looking at frames and somebody will come and speak to me. My dad and I were there for 20 mins until my dad told me to approach the manager and speak to him...
He came and asked me if I had had a look around and tried anything on ( I hadnt because all I wanted was the cheapest one possible that fitted my pocket and did the job), he immediately took me towards the £90 frames and asked my to try them on.
I didn't like them so I went and tried one of the £30 frames which I did like but he said that with the glasses that I need that it would be more expensive and that if I got the £70 glasses the tint would be free (he really lost me in sales jargon to be honest).
I told him that all I wanted was dads tint (he has a orangey/yellow tint) (he said that they don't do dads tint anymore) and a cheap frame.

We went and sat down and he started looking for dad's tint (he found it, even though he said that they dont do it anymore) and put together the bill with the frame...
In dads and my mind with the tint that I wanted (with the cheaper frames and my prescription) we were both thinking £50-£75.
I walked out of there with a £150 bill (inc. the £30 test - also the test should have cost me £25 but when I was getting booked in the lady added the extra £5 test to my bill without asking me).

I felt robbed, I felt like I paid to get insulted and I got railroaded into accepting a bill that helped the manager's figures rather than my pocket and I feel like I got pushed into a sale I didn't want which is not a nice way to treat people with disabilities.

Didn't like the service and am upset by the way I was distressed, wouldn't recommend going there.

Seem to have a larger set of choices than the others in the high street. Their 2 for price of 1 also beats most competitors. Staff are nice and helpful.

Glad to see they got rid of the musty moldy smell that's always there, maybe is just when it rains, but good to see its gone.
