Before starting coaching with Rhys, I was struggling with my fitness a lot! I was overweight, lacking strength and unable to change it. I'd tried loads of diets, followed plans online and tried the "in trend" advice from self acclaimed "health influencers" on social media, but it never worked. Before joining Rhys, I had some reservations, as I struggled with confidence in the gym, and felt very much an outcast when going, as well as believing the reason I couldn't shift the body fat was because "that's just the way I am". Rhys really helped me gain that confidence to get into the gym and push on!
Since joining, I have lost 20kg in body fat!! I've gained more muscle, have a great deal of confidence in my appearance, have overall improved my fitness as well as enjoying going to the gym and not feeling like that outcast anymore. I've been lifting much heavier weights, easily running 10k's and finding myself noticing massive changes in my physical appearance, which I never thought I could achieve.
Not only this, but Rhys has helped me understand so much more about myself and the reasons I feel certain ways, such as feeling tired, lethargic, and unmotivated at times. So not only is he just there to give you a plan to stick to, he educates. He's educated me to understand these issues and how to counteract them
If you're considering coaching, and unsure what to do I'd say to take a chance and jump on board with Rhys. He truly understands the person he's coaching, the difficulties that come with day to day life, and doesn't set massive challenges. He knows we have a life outside of coaching, and easily works around whatever you have going on, but still manages to achieve great results! He's always on hand to answer any of my concerns/questions, help with sudden changes in schedule or just general conversation. I seriously couldn't have achieved what I've achieved without him! Rhys has been great! Brace yourself it's a long review from here... I started off quite cautious, wondering how having on online coach was really going to help me change my ways, eating dirty refs, grazing my way through the day and just generally getting heavier and less fit as time went on.
Do you know what? He has done it...
I have lost a stone in the 3 months I've been with him. My face is less puffy, and I feel stronger!
It's not all about the poundage though... I have definitely lost in the inches, my trousers are getting baggier... Annoying cos I'm short and finding trousers that fit is hard and I need to go on the hunt for some new fits!!
People have started to tell me how they've noticed the weight loss and how much healthier I'm looking, and that feels amazing!
I'm not done yet, I'm set up to keep moving the pounds and inches. Another stone and I'll be a lot happier!
I'm more patient with it all now, and I understand why I feel sluggish or haven't lost weight in a particular week.

Rhys is always there at the end of a text too, which is great when you're a lost chubby detective like I was! I am more confident in the gym, more confident with food choice and genuinely in a better relationship with food and life!

You wanna learn and actually move the weight for good, then Rhys is your man!

Thanks Rhys, you've given me a new outlook on this journey and I can't thank you enough for where I am now!

Coaching with Rhys has been game changing. It sounds cliché, but he ACTUALLY gets emergency workers and the challenges they face. Plus having an on point sense of humour and banter to match, he's a knowledgeable bugger who knows his stuff.

Rhys is the perfect balance between being laid back and understanding, but also pushing you to work just that bit harder than you want to, so you get the results you want.

In 9 months I lost over 17kg, went down a size in all my clothing (and uniform), and more importantly learnt the skills needed and changed life long habits to keep my health where it needs to be even post coaching.

Can't recommend Rhys enough

I’d always wanted to get started with the gym and healthier eating etc but had nooooo idea where to begin, I felt totally average and quite frankly a little scared of the gym before starting with Rhys. I thought the gym was just gonna be filled with a bunch of ‘power’ types that made it kinda awkward to go or that I wouldn’t be able to fit it into my schedule what with the job.
But since joining with Rhys my confidence about working out and learning everything has massively improved! I saw changes to my weight and body so quickly and have already felt loads stronger since joining before the summer. Rhys has been amazing with the weekly check-ins and the feedback is brilliant to keep me in check every week. My clothes already fit different which is crazyyyy and the workout plans that Rhys has made for me are great. My sleeping is so much better as well which was always a big problem for me aswell, so bonus

If you’re unsure about joining coaching, I’d say absolutely just go for it! You’ve got nothing to loose and everything to gain from this experience, having looked back to before I started, I know I would have been soooo angry at myself right now if I didn’t do this. Best decision ever, and still excited to carry on with the programme!

Rhys is a top quality trainer and I would recommend him to anyone at any level for assistance with their personal fitness goals.

Before starting coaching with Rhys I had a massive problem with long, pointless training sessions, often overworking the muscles and not having enough rest. With his help, my sessions in the gym have been streamlined to the point I can be out within an hour, and still lift the same if not more volume. Additionally I’ve never really had a good time sticking to a diet or cutting, but Rhys has made it very simple and with it I’ve made significant changes.

I had reservations before joining about the whole process being solely online, but quickly saw how much Rhys cares about you as a person as well as a client. He’s always on the end of the phone should have any questions, or need advice and gives weekly updates and checkins regularly without missing them.

I have made way more progress in the last 8 months than I have before and the stats speak for themselves! Going from losing 20 or so KG between March and October, while still retaining a good amount of muscle and strength, not losing that much weight off any of my compound lifts. This has benefited me massively at work, and also in my personal life giving me way more confidence and also making me happier and healthier.

For context, I now weigh about 86kg when I was a big 104kg, have solid compound sets with a 120kg bench PR, a 160kg squat PR and a 190kg deadlift PR, all while having a 20:34 5km PB and 45:50 10km PR.

I never thought I’d be able to achieve like this, and constantly put it down to bad genetics or that’s just how I’m built, but Rhys has taught me how to diet efficiently without being detrimental to training. His knowledge is vast and is great for motivation.

If you’re sat on the fence about joining, I’d take a look at his group training first to see how he works, and then inevitably when you realise he’s great take the plunge with full 1 to 1 training. Not just an excellent PT, but a great bloke. I’m sure this review reads like a sales pitch, but genuinely what I have achieved myself since starting with him has been life changing, and I’d urge anyone who’s keen to make a positive change to give him a shot!
