Best garage I've used honest reliable service

I have used Griggs since 2014 and in recent years have become dissatisfied with the service I've received. Most recently my car went in for MOT and passed yet I was told it had a 'dangerous' advisory. The mechanic was evasive about when they would be able to set it right, muttering about a full work book, and wouldn't commit to a price either insisting if it was changed the one side they'd want to do the other side and maybe a couple of other bits while they were in the area (to be clear this wasn't a wheel bearing, brakes or anything that needed changing in pairs so a blatant attempt at growing the job).

I put my car up on ramps and checked the 'dangerous' fault myself and it's nothing of the sort and wasn't even in the area it was advised. I'm only glad I looked at it myself and didn't take it to another garage as I'd have been embarrassed for myself and Griggs.

This has led me to question how much work has needlessly been carried out over the years as this is a glorified MOT centre now sadly, they want easy swap jobs.

I bought a car very recently. The car has been fully inspected in this garage. A complete new brake package has been fitted to the car. Yesterday a light appeared warning of a problem with the centre brake light. I asked if there was any chance of just doing a check, because I have a big trip coming up next week and the brakes are important, I think. They didn't even give me the opportunity to give them my telephone number in case there was an opportunity to check the problem before my trip, only in a dry and very characteristic way of bad will, they gave me the opportunity to check the problem at the end of November, that is, in the space of a month and a half, as if the car had never been in this garage to be checked.

Recommended to bring in my daughters car for service and fix electrical fault and couldn’t be better service. Appointment confirmed and same day service, very professional and reasonably priced. Discussed issue with wife’s Peugeot and was asked to leave overnight, called at 2.30 next day all fixed. Highly recommend.
