We had an Airsource underfloor system fitted at our Bungalow rebuild in Happisburgh, we had a number of engineers/installers on-site at different times but mostly Alex was the one we had most contact with, he did a thoroughly professional and neat job and answered any questions we had. RA Brown came to the rescue when our gas boiler was condemned. They quoted for, and fitted, a new boiler within the week. The staff were really professional and did a great job to restore our hot water and heating. And they had no problem working with our difficult flue. Quality service.

R A Brown installed my Nibe ground source heat pump about ten years ago and we couldn't have been more impressed with their planning and installation work. So when our system stopped working a few weeks ago we called them straight away. Their engineer diagnosed the fault quickly and arranged to order the part. It was fitted quickly and the system is back working again.
Friendly, efficient and absolute experts in their field!

RA Brown - they are good, and knowledgeable, but my goodness they are expensive. It cost £170 up front, just to get an appointment booked in. This only includes one hour of labour. If the engineer does not have a part which is needed, they then have to come back another visit.another £75 for up to an hour, even if they are only there for 30 mins. Any further visits another £75, even though it’s for another part which they have to order in.
So my total for having a new pump and valve on my underfloor heating came to £756. Steep I think. Shame they are so expensive . Their engineers are good and friendly though, I have no complaint with the quality of their work.
But I find that 4.5 hours of labour to fit a simple pump and valve is excessive. This is caused by the vans not carrying appropriate parts, even simple ones, therefore having to return to depot to collect, and then re-schedule further visits to complete the work. The further visits then being charged at the minimum hourly rate of £75+VAT, even if they are not on site that long.
Other companies, including plumbers will not put in a minimum charge if they are returning to an on-going job.
This was exactly the same problem with this company in 2016, when I had one of their engineers for a total of about 5 minutes to fix a small follow up issue of a stuck solenoid. I refused to pay an hour labour for this, as he was there all of 5 minutes.
I decided to give the company another chance, due to their good expertise. But despite previous feedback, they continue to charge excessively. Absolutely nothing has changed.
