I had an absolutely terrible experience at Queeniborough Post Office. I had pre-purchased my postage online through Royal Mail and simply needed to drop off my parcel. Upon entering, I asked if the post office was open, and the woman behind the shop counter confirmed it was. However, as she walked over to the post office section, she immediately asked how I wanted to send the parcel. I explained that I had a QR code for prepaid postage, and at that moment, she was on the phone speaking in Gujarati, where she blatantly referred to me as a “free customer” before hanging up.

From there, the experience only got worse. Despite clear signage indicating that parcels should be kept upright, she carelessly slapped the postage label onto the side of my package. When I politely asked if she could place it on top instead (to ensure it remained upright), she dismissively told me, “It doesn’t matter; your parcel isn’t special.” I explained my reasoning, but instead of providing a professional service, she aggressively responded, “I’m doing you a favor—this is a free parcel you’re sending!”

Her attitude was completely unacceptable. She spoke to me in an unprofessional, rude, and condescending manner, repeatedly insisting that I hadn’t paid for postage, despite my clear explanation that I had done so online through Royal Mail. Eventually, after further argument, she reluctantly moved the label, but not before continuing to belittle me with an aggressive tone.

It seems that if you’re not spending money in their shop, they treat you like dirt. This individual is clearly unfit to work in customer service and should not be representing Royal Mail in any capacity. Based on other reviews, I can see that I am not the only one who has been treated this way. If you value basic respect and professionalism, avoid this place at all costs. Royal Mail needs to take action against this disgraceful excuse for a post office.

I went to the post office to return a Marks and Spencer order via Evri. The staff member said my QR code wouldn’t scan, then said she’d do me a favour. She took my parcel and generated a return bar code using a mobile phone but said she couldn’t give me a receipt. I thought this odd but gave her the benefit of the doubt. After a 2 week holiday during which I got no acknowledgment of my return, I went to the Post Office and was told my parcel had been returned to Amazon! I got nowhere trying to deal with the person so returned a few days later to try to get some details with which to contact Amazon. The owner would not help in any way and I am now trying to deal with Amazon with no proof of postage, date of return or even business number of the branch.

I think the proprietors need training in how to manage their business professionally and deal with customers in a polite and helpful manner. I stand to lose £95 due to their incompetence.

Please note that I would rarely (if ever) leave a negative review, simply preferring not to ever go back to a place again and taking my business elsewhere but having read the other negative comments, I felt that I just had to contribute so people can see what the real picture is from many others. I have left many reviews on google, almost always very positive as I like to help places.

So...A couple run this place, and presumably own it. The husband is friendly but the wife is one of the most horrible, judgemental and downright rude people I have ever seen in a shop anywhere, ever. I used to pop in for energy drinks every Saturday for a while on my way to play rugby nearby and thought it a bit of an odd set up with a weird vibe on some days, but it is the only shop near to my destination there. Last Saturday morning I was unlucky enough to encounter the woman staffing the place alone. She was absolutely vile. I tried to pay for two drinks on a card, as her husband always allows me to do. Then she said 'cash please' and I simply replied in a polite and helpful, non-aggressive tone 'Your husband always lets me put these on my card, have you stopped doing that now or would you like me to add a couple more items to increase the amount 'cos that's okay too' and I took two steps back to see what else I could add from the shelf. She went ballistic and launched into a 2 minute long diatribe about how 'I had to go and pay on another till at the other side of the shop', and how 'this is costing her five thousand pounds a year' and how 'I didn't listen and I didn't say anything (as though I were deaf and mute) and she said that ' I just walked off without saying anything etc'. Luckily, I was in a really calm and peaceful mood that day so I just smiled back at her, paid for my items, politely told her that she was wrong and I wasn't 'walking off' at all but simply looking to add to my items. She barked back that 'we don't force you to buy anything more in this shop but I didn't listen to her etc'. I would normally have given her a piece of my mind but was lucky enough to remain calm and at peace with the world that morning as I walked out smiling and shaking my head at her. She is really very nasty, I am sad to have to write this but I think it's very much appropriate to do so. Avoid this place like the plague, especially if the woman is around! Horrible, only giving one star as they won't let me post this otherwise. Would give zero if I could. All the shocked people leaving all these negative comments about this lady are not over-reacting or just merely whinging, she really is that bad!

Horrible experience here. I’m not normally so compelled to leave a bad review because I know how damaging it can be to businesses, but the female that runs this shop (I won’t call her a lady because her behaviour was far from it) needs to understand the consequences of her behaviour.

The sign clearly said open so I went in, and the gentleman started serving me. The woman appeared from the back and started shouting at both of us in a rude and aggressive manner because they were supposed to be closed. She then went on to insult me, as though I’d done something wrong by going into the shop. The shop with the sign that said OPEN. Disgusting behaviour, and a disgraceful way to speak to whom I assume, unfortunately for him, is her husband. In front of a customer.

We all have bad days but judging by the other reviews on here this isn’t the first time she has demonstrated her lack of customer service skills. I will not be using this shop or post office again. I’d rather drive an extra 5 minutes to the next one.

Extremely rude and aggressive lady who I believe owns the post office!! Do not give this woman your business! I have been today to send back some free returns, I parked at the front and she was shouting at me to move my car saying she is losing business and I’m not a paying customer because my returns are free. Very very rude no customer service at all! Her husband who works there on the other hand couldn’t be more polite! Do not give this woman your money or business!

Went into the post office to deposit some money and was told it was closed. I explained that I visit the post office the same time every week no issue as it’s wages I put in so every Saturday I come in. Was told there was nothing he could do about it as he’d just cashed up and then the women came out shouting in her own language at me so I just had to walk away. Won’t be stepping foot in the shop again! What a vile women!

I would not recommend this Post Office for delivery of any parcels. According to our tracking number, our parcel was delivered to the post office then was handed over to the wrong person with no checks of identity... the post office refused to take any liability even though it was their mistake, insisting on blaming other parties...rude, aggressive unhelpful and disorganised...
