One star for the crass administrative incompetence with which I'm met every single month. This surgery's dispensary and admin raise my stress levels and cause me, friends, and in-laws an inordinate amount of extra work just to get my repeat prescriptions. They send collection notifications and fail each time (!) to then provide all medication. Each time something is missing, something I need to survive, in fact. How is this lawful or ethical? The only reason I endure there is my superb GP but I do wonder how my GP - and the other medical staff - manage to work effectively in such conditions? Surely they're aware of how badly patients are treated by admin and the dispensary which, frankly, is sheer chaos to the detriment of some very unwell patients. I want things to improve for those of us whose lives depend on medicines that, as things stand, are withheld due to organisational shortcomings (unless someone fights for us every single month, calling multiple times, following up, visiting the surgery, etc) or are dispensed at the very last minute, often thanks to an intervention by a medical doctor, which is indefensible. I will be writing to my MP on this matter because this has gone on for far too long now and it affects many people, their quality of life, possibilities of continued income, quality time with family, and living meaningful lives. Probus Surgery's utter shambles not only disrupts fragile lives but destroys the very narrow margins some of us have left to make the best of an awful health situation.

So fed up with this practice. Every month is a nightmare trying to get my pain relief.
Two weeks ago I submitted a prescription and its still not done, they don't answer the phones and just send messages saying this has been passed onto Pharmacy!

How about employ people that can actually do the job as I now face a second weekend without pain relief!

SERIOUSLY NOT IMPRESSED!

If there was a 10 star 🌟 I'd give it. We've been using this surgery for a few years and all the staff are fantastic. The ring back system, when booking an appointment is brilliant . Thank you Probus Surgery.

Needed to get an appointment and rang up and was bluntly told I needed to fill out some online forms. I filled them all out and sent back straight away, I then unfortunately missed a call from a nurse and when I rang back immediately I was told she was busy and to ring reception. Reception then told me they couldn’t do anything for me and that the nurse would ring again and quickly hung up on me. I never received a call back and again reception told me there was nothing they could do for me. I had to go private as I could not get anywhere with Probus. Very bad service and will go elsewhere in future 👎

Took my daughter here to get the necessary vaccinations and medicines for her school trip to Ghana. The nurse who gave the vaccinations was superb, friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. The Surgery is completely let down by the dispensary, the lady behind the secure window was obnoxious to anyone she did not know. It took an age to get antimalarial medication, we had to visit twice because it was not ready and even on the second visit we had to wait 30 minutes.

If you get to see a Doctor you will no doubt be satisfied, they are hard working kind people doing the best they can, but getting past the gauntlet of reception is a challenge to say the least!

Recorded message: "You are 8th in the queue"
15 mins later:
Reception: "Is it an emergency"
Me "No, I would have called 999 if it was an emergency"
Reception: "In that case we are taking appointments for two weeks time"
Me "Thank you, I will either be better or dead by then, goodbye"

The NHS really is broken and Probus surgery is a prime example of this. My advice: Pray you don't get ill.

I want to thank the receptionist for her help today. Also the Doctor who rang me helped me.
Much appreciated as always.

The admin part of the surgery is appalling. It takes them more than 2 weeks to dispense one item of prescribed medicine. The reception staff is abrupt (to say the least). The only reason I stay with them is because I like my GP. Otherwise would be gone in a flash to a more efficient surgery.
