I've dealt with Stuart for well over a decade, he's my third accountant and I wouldn't change a thing. We run three businesses through Oxygen and he's never once steered me wrong. Stuart has helped me set up Xero so that all data is visible and can be tracked, and everything is ready to be filed straight away at year end. He has assisted with setting up my pension (a SSAS), ensured that he is available to have meetings / phone calls to discuss ad hoc questions like allowable expenditure or pension contributions prior to year end etc, helped with cashflow forecasting and so much more.

Having used various accountants previously I wanted to move away from the more corporate accountancy firm and wanted a firm that had a personal level of service rather than being passed to various different departments for various different aspects of accountancy and tax. Poor accountancy practice, owner isn't even an accountant, found this out after an investigation with the hmrc. Hmrcs words were "stuart wasn't aware of multiple regulations and rules" Multiple friends and clients of my own have also came away from oxygen after suffering big tax losses.
This so called accountant is not pro active. You have to push for things to be checked over and over again.
I had multiple business with oxygen, after making investments from my main company. It wasn't til 2 years after the investments somebody told me about eis/scis. Oxygen didn't have a clue what it was so had to pay external company to claim 150k back. This then came off my personal tax liability. I've done in excess of 9m 2 years running and don't even have a pension set after multiple times of asking.
May I add I've paid over 200k corporation for last 3 years.

I moved accountants after my investigation, May I add we done nothing wrong and were 100% clean apart from an error with payroll that Stuart gave us the answers to which were wrong. I moved accountants after reading the comments from hmrc about oxygen and was utterly shocked.
Since then, in the last 6 months. I now have all companies with this practice, I have pensions, were looking at buying commercial property, we are clear of the investigation. I know exactly what I'm doing with all business's for the next 12 months and the new co have set targets to hit.

I have weekly conversations, meetings and potential for making more deals with investments and property, basically maximising my potential through every aspect. Feel very happy and content with my new accountant.
If you are a sole trader and turnover is nomore than 50k a year then you may have nothing to worry about but if you own multiple business with large turnover then get out quick. Youl be surprised how much you'll save going with a Co that knows what they are doing.

Not only this but he shares information and talks about your business in the local pub. Used to tell me alot about other clients and there business. Quite sure thats illegal but there you go.

And to top it off my new accountant is cheaper ? crazy how the world works sometimes but everything happens for a reason.
A wise man told me, you can have the wrong accountant for 10 years and be skint. You can have the right accountant for 1 year doing 1/10 of the turnover and youl be a millionaire.
I've found my man!!
Not only this but Stuart now ignores me and he and his team have become very rude.
He also owes me over 10k for construction works.
