I recently took my car to McCarthy Cars (UK) - Service Centre at Silver Wing Industrial Estate, Horatius Way, Croydon, for its annual service. Typically, their service is quick, and I can expect the car to be ready within a day. However, this time, things were very different. The service took over a week, which was a significant delay compared to their usual efficiency.

The issue seemed to stem from the diagnostics process, which took much longer than anticipated. What added to my frustration was the lack of communication. I was not updated about the status of my car, and I had to reach out to them several times for information. This lack of communication was disappointing, as I usually have no complaints about their customer service.

When the car was finally ready, I was relieved to find that the service itself was completed to a high standard. The team performed the required repairs and maintenance thoroughly, and my car was in great condition afterward. However, the cost was another issue. I ended up paying three times the amount I had initially budgeted for, which was a significant surprise. While the quality of the work was good, the lack of transparency about pricing and the extended service time left me feeling dissatisfied.

Overall, while McCarthy Cars still offers quality service, this experience was far less satisfactory than usual. I hope they can improve their communication and pricing transparency in the future.

Problem with my car was coolant leaking this started within 6 months of getting the car returned it and was told they couldn't find a problem went back 4 more times replaced pump ,thermostat and still told me they couldn't find a problem, had more problems so went to another garage and said it was the head gasket and it is well known for this problem, why didn't Mccarthys know. really not what you expect from a reputable firm like them.
