I arrived late and hadn’t received the relevant codes to gain access to the gate/ door. I called up and the lady there was very accommodating, welcoming me and showing me my room despite how late it was. I stayed for one night, only after arriving I looked at the reviews of which from my point of view must be outdated?||The room I stayed in was immaculate, it looks as though it has been recently refurbished which shows investment. I had a great nights sleep, very peaceful! ||I will be stopping again when in the area.

From the second i entered the grounds to (sadly) leaving 5 days later everything was perfect. Spotlessly Clean Well Equipped kitchen and a comfy bed, considering i have travelled hundred's of miles for a holiday in the past finding a local gem like this when i needed a break was perfect ...|Thank you so very much for everything

Grim & creepy. Room tired & dirty. Plates & cutlery on a table but nothing to wash up with. No toilet lid. No hair dryer so pack one. Carpet in the bathroom. Dirty TV remote. Pitch black driving in at night & creepy. Only saw one staff member on arrival and nobody after that. Make sure you know where the button is to exit the gate as it's not where I was told in the text message. Grounds are neglected. It's like a film set for a horror movie, just creepy. Was very glad to leave. Never going back, just awful.

An absolute hovel. The floors were dirty and there was a revolting stain on the sheet. It was cold in every sense of the world. There were insects everywhere, spiders in particular, and a slug in the washbasin. My right arm is covered in bites and is turning yellow. No hospitality, and no hospitality tray. Snooty owner talked down to me on the phone when I phoned to ask her why I couldn't get into the house using the code that she'd sent to me. It turns out that I was in an outbuilding. It looked as if it hadn't been cleaned this year. Absolutely disgusting. I'd rather have slept in the car. At least I wouldn't have been eaten alive by insects.

I arrived after a 14+ hour day. It is very rural with no on site catering, but room had a kettle, microwave, toaster and fridge. I was given an attic room and told the shower was not working and to use one in the floor below. I did not stay, opting for a hotel in the town centre, near food. Host tried their best to be accommodating.

Important context: My experience was a 1 night stay and does not represent this establishment in it's entirety. No-one in hospitality sets out to provide a poor experience. Anyone can have an off day.

Catherine is a wonderful, warm, interesting hostess. How much nicer to wake up to horses, rabbits and Alice the cat than a sterile Travelodge Room on a petrol station in Acle down the road.... Yes, you might encounter the old spider but as you're living in a beautiful old house in the country I really think that's fairly normal..... In short, if you're a city dweller you might find it a bit of a challenge but it's a very reasonable calm place to unwind.... I will return!

We were meant to stay between the 19th and the 22nd (3 nights) . However, we cut our stay short by a night due to a number of reasons. |The first was that the room my mum was staying in. This was meant to be ‘Along one corridor’ but was in fact pretty much on the other side of the house. Our trouble with this room did not stop there. Though the room was large, it clearly belonged to a member of the family – the wardrobes were full, there was make-up, books and a lot of paperwork which looked like coursework piled up by the window. There was a mass of clothing and belongings stashed under a sheet as well as stuff stashed in the bathroom as well.|There was no television. Dead flowers on the mantel piece and the side of the bed was badly stained. Neither of us felt comfortable staying in this room and mum only used the shower because it was bigger than the one in the other room – I needed to stay with her while she was showering due to her age and balance issues. We decided to stay in the same, smaller room.||At first the second room, though smaller, seemed nice. The shower and toilet were in a small room that was no bigger than a cupboard but that was fine for me. I was a little put off by the used bottles of body wash etc. There were a few cobwebs in the lampshade and a few spiders about but that didn’t bother us. ||What bothered us and ultimately led to us leaving was the beetles. On the second night we got no sleep because some relatively large and clumsy beetles had found their way into our room despite the window being closed. This was the straw that broke the camel’s back – my mum is terrified of beetles.|The conservatory was not very inviting. There was a rowing machine in the middle of room and the sofa was dirty and torn. The poor cat didn’t have it’s litter tray cleaned the whole time we were there.||Positives: It was pretty easy to find and the cat was adorable and friendly. |

I was on a family vacation in August 2023. Extremely dirty place, there were moldy clothes in the washing machine, everything was sticky in the kitchen, the carpet was not clean, if you take off your shoes your socks turn black from the well cleaned house. There was dirt and dust everywhere. Behind the beds was full of misery. There were towels in the rooms that were torn and smelled of mold. The shower was leaking water. I recommend him to anyone. When we settled in the next day, a man cleaned the horses and came in to fix a cabinet that wasn't even broken. It was mentioned that there is a pool, but it is not functioning. Ina all of the above texting me to leave a nice comment.
