Dear Lambeth Council,
If I could, I will give 0 stars. Your staff neglect and ignore tenants as if weren't human beings. I had water ingress in the property through the windows and it took 4 years to replace them, I was left with out heating and hot water for nearly two months awaiting a boiler replacement. It's been over three years I am chasing for repairs to address damp and mould in the property. Everyone ignoring me, no one respond to my emails, and I am told over the telephone or when I meet your staff face to face that someone will call me, I never hear anything back. I have always paid my rent on time. The mimimun I expect is to be listened to. Your sevice is absolutely disgusting and careless, which causes massive stress and anxiety. Can you respond to my emails and resolve my disrepair case as soon as possible.

Couldn’t be any worse. Paid my service fee for 10 years, now I need one repair and it’s been 8 months and still no action. I’m in a never ending cycle of “we'll send a chaser / they’ll get back to you within 5 days”. Spoiler alert - they will not get back to you within 5 days. There is no downside to this non service so it’ll never change. Complain to the Housing Ombudsman like I did and they won’t ever perform their duty in line with that. Live in Lambeth? Bad luck.

Awful and poor service. The amount of time spent over the phone trying to be in touch with someone is indescribable and time wasting. I have managed to be in touch with them just twice and it was told me someone will call you. Still waiting to hear back. Their aim is just to end the call. You are just left alone with your hope. Because we do pay taxes we should get a better service than this. I appreciate they might be busy or short of staff but over 1.5 hour waiting (because I did want to waste more time over the phone) to talk to their member of staff is just insane.

Joseph Osagie is terrible at his job. He is suppose to be a Housing Adviser at Resident Services, London Borough of Lambeth but he had full blown tantrums and anger outburst when he didn’t agree with something despite it being the law and rights you have as a person in need. He has serious anger issues and shouldn’t be doing this job.

For virtually most of the summer, local citizens cannot access the central green areas of Brockwell Park. With all due respect, its a fragile ecosystem thats been continually exploited and monetised by the council for ticketed music festivals and commercial events of disproportionate scale throughout the whole summer season.

The poor wildlife with sensitive hearing cannot escape the harmful noise frequencies, volume and reverberating bass from such events, all of which the council routinely greenlight each summer despite the planning application (ref: 23/00498/RG3) having 56 objections versus 1 supporting representation.

Such commercial events are negatively impacting the natural resources of Brockwell Park including the welfare and freedom of its surrounding citizens during the only sunny months of the year, and not forgetting the detritus left in the wake of these music festivals.

Easily the worst council in London. Absolute joke. Taxes keep on shamelessly increasing and service levels drop every year … streets are dirty, bins aren’t collected, parking keeps on getting more expensive, crime is on the rise … and the council only focuses on greenwashing communication and false excuses. Utterly incompetent.

Pursued legal action against us for missing one monthly payment of council tax, no written reminders or warnings were sent and an additional charge of £100 was added

All whilst our streets and estate are filthy and the local park is closed off for most of the summer for events

I went to the reception to ask for clarification, trying to explain that the solution given by the colleague didn't work. I wasn’t complaining. The person immediately became confrontational, and all of a sudden, it turned into another one of those moments where it’s right versus wrong. I was just trying to say, "Look, you gave me a Wi-Fi card. It doesn't work." I wasn’t complaining. I went there to see if maybe I got the wrong information. This is the council, for heaven’s sake. Why does it have to be so difficult? How am I supposed to feel looked after if, when I ask for help, I'm treated like this? There's no friendliness. It feels like they’re just doing it because they have to, otherwise they’d get in trouble. That’s the message you get. Why do you always have to be so confrontational? I’m homeless. I’m coming there to ask for information. Why are you so unfriendly to me? Why do you work for the council if you don’t like people?

My God, all of this just because I needed a Wi-Fi password. What am I to expect if I need serious help? Why are you always like this? Why do you have to make it worse when it's already bad, and I come there because I need help? Why do you choose to work with people who need help if you don’t like helping people?

And I really hope this has nothing to do with my transgender identity because it’s not the first time I’ve had an issue at the Lambeth Civic Center. Last time, when I was given the WiFi card missing the password, while I was still standing in the cue waiting to be seen, the security guy sitting by the graffiti painting started staring at me from far with a sinister smile as if he knew something I was supposed to be aware of. It’s so depressing. The London, Lambeth Council pays people to support members of the community, and they behave like this.
