"Backbone tower". Only reason for it's being is to withstand a nuclear blast and still work afterwards.

Have always admired this fine antenna from afar, with its twinkling red lights but one day I took the plunge and drove over there. Unfortunately upon arrival, much like many a tinder date I was somewhat underwhelmed with its overall appearance. Needless to say I haven’t been back since.
