Absolutely loved it. What an amazing place. The only eight sail windmill left in the country out of seventy. Went to a heritage open day: Small steam engines, flour milling, band playing. Shop selling produce and glorious cakes and scones made with the flour in the tea rooms. Like stepping back in time and enchanting.

Fantastic experience to be able to go in this historic windmill and climb to to top. It wasn't in operation when we visited but they do have milling days where you can see it in action. They also have there own micro brewery in the old saw mill attached to the mill so you can enjoy a drink brewed here. They is a museum, bakery and cafe to enjoy also. All in all a great day out with much more than just a mill.

Absolutely fantastic. My 10yr old has ADHD & Autism and has one of the most inquisitive minds ever. He randomly decided that he wanted to visit a windmill so he could see how it worked. We chose Heckington, and I'm so glad we did.

From start to finish the staff were fabulous. Taking their time to answer all the questions thrown their way and going well and truly above and beyond to make sure our son had all the info he needed ?.

There's a fabulous cafe on site that sits right next to a level crossing, so we also managed to cram in some random trainspotting too.

Shout out to "Alf" for being a superstar and letting us out onto the balcony and being so patient woth Cole.

Would definitely recommend visiting here .

Went for a visit, it was closed, but had what I would describe as a micro bar that was open, unique range of drinks and food, managed to enjoy a couple of drinks, sitting outside in the warm air. Will go back again.
