I went to Fields Data Recovery because I thought that due to the volume of positive reviews, it would be hard for all of them to be fake. Turns out Fields is a rip-off. I sent a hard drive, and they promised to recover data but needed to rebuild some parts for £900 (they didn't quote the VAT).

After paying I had to chase for an update and they told me that the files were corrupted and couldn't recover any data. I made sure I got the hard drive back before I posted this review.

I sent Fields' report to another company who have helped people poorly served by them and they said the photo of the open hard drive wasn't done in a clean room which is a basic of hardware repair.

Excellent service to retrieve potentially lost memories.
After engaging with Fields Data I was regularly updated as to the analysis of the broken hard drive and the options/costs available to me.
What I thought was years of lost photos were retrieved and now safely stored on a hard drive. They could have provided one for me, but were happy to use that I sent to them, plenty of options.
I later found out that FDS is the company that my original PC repair company goes to if they need expert assistance.

We have used Fields Data Recovery to assist in data recovery for several clients. Each time they have been very helpful and professional and successfully recovered client data.

The most receint time was when a client's Accounts server failed due to a large power spike causing the server's power supply, RAID controller and both mirrored drives to be damaged with no external backup.

Fields arranged for the drives to be picked up by courier the next day to get them back to their labs. They had the data recovered and back with the client within a week and we were able to get a new Accounts server up and running with the data restored.

We have no hesitation in recommending them.

An excellent service when, despite all my disciplined efforts to religiously back up my precious data, I had a hard drive failure which resulted in copying corrupted data to all my backups.
I was nervous about investing such a large sum of money (to me) but in the event Fields Data Recovery came good and pretty much restored 100% of my lost/corrupted files.
I'm hoping I never have to use them again but their professionalism and results enabled me to recover many vital photographic images and essential data.

I got in touch with Fields to recover a hard drive that had stopped working. Arranging pick up was very easy and convenient. Once it had been received I had good communication about what was happening. After a few days Jason gave me a call to give me an update. Unfortunately my drive wasn't recoverable and it is sent back to me.

Of course, it's a shame that the drive wasn't recoverable. Nothing Fields can do about that. But the communications and ease of handling were great. That's the reason for the 5 stars.

Superb service from Fields Data recovery. I thought all my work from the last 20 years was lost forever, on a hard drive that wouldn’t even switch on, but they recovered it all. Great service, fast, friendly, helpful, really brilliant, thank you so much!!!

Just reading some negative comments below, I should add that they don’t actually charge you anything, unless they can recover some or all of your data. They tell you what it is they’ve found / share a file list, and ask you to confirm if you want to go ahead before asking for payment, and that is after them sending a courier at their cost to pick up your drive. They keep you informed every step of the way and do what they say they’re going to do. I was impressed.
