Lovely rustic woodland site, weather dreadful at new year but not their fault. Very kind and welcoming, adhering to their eco principles.
The availability of fire pits, wood fired pizza , woodland walks etc will make this a great stopover, alas not during recent storms at new year.
To receive a visit, checking we were ok, was above and beyond expectations.
Limited toilet facilities, not a problem to us, and the campers kitchen with microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge etc will be welcomed by many.

Liked: This camp site is very endearing it’s got lovely tables and chairs dotted around made from logs and the view from the green by the shower and loo cabin is beautiful. Little hideaway in the woods. Second stay here, will definitely be back again.

Disliked: Not really a dislike as such but the lane to get to the site is very narrow and bumpy, just something to be aware of if your in a larger camper

We are not campers by any stretch and wanted to try a gentle intro to this sort of break as a family with 6 & 3 year old boys. Mark, Karen & Jessie were brilliant hosts, friendly and welcoming. Willow bell tent was clean, spacious and beautifully decorated. The kitchenette was well equipped and the main kitchen/toilets/shower rooms were all well appointed. Our boys enjoyed playing in the play areas and we all enjoyed the walk down to the Plunge waterfall.
As residents here, we got 50% off the bill at the Coach pub in Edenfield.
Thank you for a great stay - we will be back in future and will definitely book for a pizza night!

Liked: Great welcome the Friday pizza was great. A really great concept with volunteers running the camp for the benefit of local children. Nothing too much trouble. A short walk into the village and walks around the camp. Me and my son had a great time. We will definitely return to support such a great initiative.

Liked: The communal area where we shared a BBQ also the roundhouse area for undercover fires if the weather wasn’t kind. Really liked the wood chip covering for pitching our tent as it didn’t get muddy. Enjoyed the pizza on Friday night.

Disliked: The code on the toilets, as was hard in the mornings to punch it in when you really needed a wee - not good for children (9 year old so not talking super young) or for me after 3 children. Very crammed in for such a small site, parking had to be ‘just so’ felt a bit boxed in and not free.

What a fantastic campsite, so glad we’ve found it and we will be returning. The site only has a few pitches and is set in a beautiful area of forest with access to a small river and a waterfall only a short walk away which the kids loved exploring. The atmosphere on site was great and very friendly, as were Mark and his family. We also enjoyed the pizza night and the campfires. Can’t recommend Dearden Wood enough if you’re looking to get away from it all.

A fabulous stay in this gorgeous, hidden gem.The owners couldn’t be more helpful, in particular, Mark made our weekend,… watching the bee keeping and trying the honey was ace. Loved the friendly atmosphere, the pizzas on Friday, best pizza ever. Lovely walks, fab wood delivery for a lovely campfire every evening. Even inspired with new campsite games. We have never returned to a campsite for a second visit but already waiting for web bookings to open for October, lovely weekend that could have been as relaxed or busy as you wanted. Brilliant facilities, always clean. Highly recommend! Thanks for a perfect bank holiday weekend.

Liked: Hosts were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Very quiet and peaceful setting nestled in tranquil woodlands. Facilities are basic but excellent and spotlessly clean. The campfire provided was a great touch and the roaming deer were a nice surprise during camp breakfast. We will return very soon!
