Update: Following the poor service from David Wilson Homes, we took our complaint to the new homes ombudsman, who upheld our complaint and agreed we should be paid compensation.
I’d also advise new home owners on the site to check their aco drainage at the ends of their driveway. Instead of using the correct circular cut out, they have cut rough squares in the drainage slots for the drainage connection. The whole site so far has been done this way. So if you’re thinking of buying, just ask to inspect some of the aco drainage connections and see for yourself.
Elderberry Way, Juniper Drive etc. show examples of this poor workmanship.
David Wilson had to replace our driveway to correct the poor workmanship. I’m surprised others haven’t picked up on it and are far too trusting of this company.
I have added photos of the incorrect drainage connections, they should use the circular cut outs that are part of the drainage channel.

Unfortunately the service from David Wilson Homes at Elm Tree Park is exceptionally poor.
We moved into our new home eight weeks ago. On the day of moving in, their solicitors (Knights PLC) lost our funds (or at least that is what David Wilson Homes told us) this led to a late completion time of 15:00 on moving in day. As a result we incurred additional removal charges from the removal company.
In terms of build quality, on move in day our boiler was faulty, it took David Wilson six weeks to actually fix the boiler. During this time, we had multiple visits from various people all of which would come and aimless listen to the boiler and say “that’s definitely faulty” but not actually do anything about it.
We had 159 snags identified and opted to ask for 60 of these to be rectified. All of which are either down to shoddy workmanship or the site not following NHBC standards.
The latest saga is the stairs are loose and wobbly. It appears to be down to poor workmanship again but as always there is little action from David Wilson to get this sorted.
Personally, I would avoid this site and the Barratt David Wilson Brand like the plague.
1. Stairs loose and wobbly - still waiting for these to be fixed. No one has a solution and we have had countless visits with no solutions found.
2. 159 snags identified, we asked for 60 to be corrected (despite David Wilson agreeing all of the snags should be fixed). We are stilling waiting eight weeks on for all of these to be rectified.
3. We were left with a faulty boiler for six weeks. During that time the boiler exploded on a Sunday night. We called the out of hours emergency team who refused to attend.
4. Senior Management ignore emails and do not reply.
5. Our snagger identified that nearly all of the extractor fans across the site were fitted incorrectly (wrong duct size used). David Wilson happily supplied certificates for the fans stating they met part F building reg requirements even though they don’t and they are now having to carry out remedial work.
6. Old scrap pallet wood used under the baths.
7. For six weeks, despite having two baths and three showers in the property, only one shower could be used due to snags and defects with the others.
8. No consideration is given to residents living on the site when it comes to foul language and shouting of workman. An example of this is a scaffolder shouting at a customer to “shut their f**king dog up” and then proceeded to bark back at the dog and customer.
All of this is down to poor workmanship, the people they employ and the site not adhering to NHBC standards. Not forgetting of course the forged test certificates of the extractor fans.
Avoid at all costs, I suspect Barratt are the same as it is the same company after all.
