My wife's favourite place and I understand why. Curbar edge overlooking Baslow and overlooking the peaks -a stones throw from baslow edge and the remains for a once started carving of grindings stones. Statuesque with the all the boulders and stones laying rest over the years. Little effort needed to get this place with high rewarding views.

Spectacular rocky scenery easily reached from nearby car park with stunning views to other Edges along the Hope Valley. Not very busy on a Friday afternoon just before the school holidays.

Curbar Edge is in the Peak District. There is parking available. Took my parents here for an easy hike. Breath taking views upon the rocks of the whole area and the village below. It was also delightful to see some Bronze Age items too like rock wheels on the walk. Further up the hike you see trees and fields, and at the end of the walk it brings you to Froggatt Edge where you can also see the Froggatt Stone Circle, nice piece of history to walk on to. Lovely walk, great for beginners. Would say from Curbar Edge to Froggatt Edge and back would take 1 hour 30 mins, there and back. But we took our time to take photos and take in the view.

Other activities that took place:

We saw several people rock climbing in Curbar Edge also, as well as dog walkers, joggers and cyclists. So many people are able to access the area and do an array of activities. Would highly recommend this as a first hike.

Park at Curbar Gap car Park and you’ll only have to walk up a well sign posted gentle incline before you see spectacular vies across the valley. There are walks either side of the ridgeway that follow the view.

Stunning views as always. Quieter on a weekday as predominantly retirees.
