What a lovely church a bit hidden away but the grounds are well kept and the gardener keeps the gravestones well maintained.

Stunning at early evening as just us, spoke with a local resident and it gets packed from early morning onwards on hot days. With no real parking & these social distancing times maybe a bit hazardous. We spotted lots of lovely swallows a kingfisher flyby and jumping fish while visiting.

This Church sits in a very picturesque valley and about a quarter mile from the busy A37 and Pensford. It is also the final resting and residence of the late Acker Bilk, now joined by his wife who was with him for many years. Who passed away, last year.

I came here a few times during the Pandemic months. And the last time was just about 3 days ago as I write this up. This church has remained mostly closed since March of this year. The pool near the bridge is popular and well known to people in the local area. And during hot times - has been a crucial place to cool down. But it is also a remarkably tranquil place.

This church has a small 8 member choir. But like all choristers. The confounded choral vandal has silenced it. This place remains in range for walkers and cyclists. And has a fair number of visitors to it. The Church Grounds are open. But like some churches in Bristol, it will only open up on Sunday Afternoons between 2.30 to 4.30pm - though that remains a educated guess! And only for private prayers.

A beautiful church and grounds, peaceful and tranquil by the river. Just wish that there was a lovely vicar to go with it

Beautiful little country churchyard. Acker Bilk is buried here, just to the right as you go through the gate. The road to it is very narrow.
