Everyone in the school, the staff, the teachers and the students are friendly and kind. I have had a great time in the past 2 months and if I have a chance, I would like to study here again. I took a four-week English course in August 2024 at Bayswater London. It is a well-organized, well-structured, spacious school with a good atmosphere. I would give this school five stars if it weren't for a problem I had with a student. The first week of classes was great, I learned something different from the teacher, which changed my English. However, in the second week, a student from my country, a girl between 20 and 25 years old, who I don't know, started a three-week course. There were two B1+ level classes in the afternoon. I was in a B1+ class, and the student from my country in another B1+ class. It was perfect. I was in a room surrounded by foreigners, without any people from my country, she was in another room surrounded by foreigners, without any people from her country. This is great for learning the English language. However, I don't know if by mistake or on purpose, this student started her course in my classroom instead of starting in her own. The teacher, I don't know if by mistake or not, didn't tell her to go to the right room; he let her stay in my room. This student behaved inappropriately. Whenever I spoke to the teacher, she would make faces, frown, make a questioning expression, and look at the other students, giving the impression that what I was saying was wrong or a lie. The teacher, instead of telling her to stop or asking her what was going on, he did the opposit, let himself be influenced by her, often not answering my questions because of the student's expression. Another thing the student did: When I asked the teacher something, the girl would answer my question, and in the language of our country, and often her answer was something obvious, not what I was trying to learn, but she did it to show the students and the teacher that she was better at English than me. After a few days, that student started to do something worse. When the teacher and I talked, she would shout an inconvenient "No! No! No!" and she would start denying everything I had said, to show the other students that she was understanding everything we were saying and, more than that, that she understood and denied everything we were saying. I was speaking fluently with the teacher, but this student, on the contrary, had a bad pronunciation and had difficulty expressing herself in English. The teacher, instead of making her stop interrupting me with the inconvenient “No! No! No!”, did the opposite, he would go towards her and help her express what she was not able to, putting the words in her mouth and making her seem better than me in English. This student’s bad attitude increased until it reached unbearable levels, like, for example, in the last week of class, when she denied what I was saying about my own job and about a trip I had taken to Europe. She became happier and happier and felt superior, and I became more and more sad and more humiliated. In short: I suffered a loss in my learning, financial and time. On the last day of class I was completely silent, to avoid being bothered by the annoying student from my country. Unfortunately I had no idea how to solve this problem when I was in London, I just put up with the inappropriate behavior of the student and kept quiet as much as possible, which hindered my learning. During the last week of school, the teacher was changed. The teacher who had taught the first three weeks of school left and a very good teacher named Michael took over the classes. Michael, unlike the other teacher, gradually realized that the student from my country was behaving inappropriately, and, on the last day of school, Michael had already discovered that she was bad, and he acted in a way that made her stop kidding with me in class. However, it was the last day of school and the damage had already been done. I returned to my country frustrated at having missed three weeks of classes, having spent three weeks being annoyed and not learning anything. For the reasons I have just described, I am only giving Bayswater London 3 stars instead of 5.
