We've been with Intelligent Retail for 9 years, choosing the company for the excellent web design and integrated EPoS for our retail shop. We moved to a responsive design 6 years ago which has worked well for our business. Support from the helpdesk is efficient and friendly, the marketing team oversee our online presence and are very proactive, offering welcome advice to increase business and make our site user friendly. Over the last few years new releases upgrading the software has made the system faster, updating the website takes no time at all which is naturally great for incoming orders.

We've been with Intelligent Retail for six years and originally chose them due to the multi-channel integration that was superior to the the other options we looked at. Since the company changed hands a few years ago we have seen a significant move towards developing the software and were an early adopter of the responsive website option and have since seen a substantial increase in sales.

Support through the helpdesk is very responsive and we feel we have a partnership rather than just being sold a piece of software. We also feel Intelligent Retail understands the needs of our business and are seeing new features every few months that provide either new opportunities for our business or make using the system even easier.

We keep an eye on the options out there and still believe the software and services from Intelligent Retail remains one of the best truly multi-channel options and would highly recommend it to retailers looking to develop their online business.

Making the decision to use Intelligent retail has been the worst business decision made to date. We've held off leaving a review for a long time and don't write this lightly.

Starting with something positive the IT support staff are excellent, we speak with them regularly and they are patient and knowledgeable. They must be frustrated with the level of support end users need but never show this and without them we would have cut ties with IR years ago.

Unfortunately this doesn't even come close to making up for the bad and please bear in mind this is our experience only and I can see from the reviews some people have great success but I wanted to give our perspective from a company who use it on multi channels as that's where the main issues come from.

To start with we feel the system was mis-sold, we were told stock updates in real time (within 20-30 seconds). This was important for us as we sell instore, website, amazon and Ebay. The reality is that stock can take several hours to update which means we oversell almost daily and are constantly fighting to stop amazon and Ebay suspending us due to high cancellations.

The system is slow, really slow, to do anything, I often read my book when clicking between screens or updating something, it's that slow I'm getting through a lot of books!. We are constantly told this is our hardware's fault despite more than doubling the spec they required to run IR.

The system is buggy beyond belief, it crashes weekly, they have no alerts set up for when the system goes down so we regularly come in in the morning to the system being down and even more products overselling than normal.

The product doesn't integrate with Royal Mail. We asked about this in the sales pitch and was assured it would. It doesn't so all web orders have to be entered manually into Royal Mail.

The biggest issue we now have which has pushed us over the edge is that products no longer go up to Ebay and Amazon seamlessly. I appreciate that amazon and Ebay change their systems regularly however you can't sell a product that no longer works with the partners you claim it does.

These are just some of the main issues we have and feel trapped in the product. As I've said I don't write this lightly, however after spending years trying to make this work we've given up, it adds hours of extra work to our day and we lose sales and customers due to IR.

The thing that I liked about the Intelligent Retail software is that it is so easy to use, I have a lot of flexibility over discounts and rewards, it also has a cafe module which gives my business the flexibility to expand! The demonstration and training where extremely thorough and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable and not as pushy as some other companies! Doing reporting and things which could easily be very complicated are so easy with Intelligent Retail's system! The helpdesk solved any issues or just answered my queries in a way I can understand and learn from.

All of this compounds to me spending less time on things like business analysis, stock management, investing less in dead stock, so it is definitely saving me time and money!

We have been a client of Intelligent Retail since 2009. We have been very pleased with the system and it does everything we need, it manages our in store stock and customer sales, loyalty system and customer accounts and all of our online activity via our website and our ebay stores simply and efficiently. Without the Intelligent Retail system we wouldn't have been able to grow our online sales to what they are today. The system is very simple to use and if you want to add stock to sell online or via ebay or amazon its a case of drag and drop the product to the sales channel window. The system talks with all of our sales channels and has managed to reduce our stock holding of multiples of the same product, increase product lines meaning more choice for customers and reduce stock errors as the system synchronises with all of our sales channels seamlessly. Over the past year we, and several other retailers, have been working directly with Intelligent Retail to make improvements to the system, improvements that small and medium sized retailers really need and they have been fantastic to work with, very open minded and very amenable to our suggestions and all I have to say is working with IR is a brilliant partnership.
