Purfleet station is served by c2c trains there is disabled access to both platforms the ticket office area is small with a few seats inside. There is ticket barriers on platform 1 only for trains heading towards London Fenchurch Street. On platform 2 there is no ticket barriers both platforms are long and the station was clean and tidy when I came here. There is a car park right outside the station along with a level crossing too. On Sundays trains from here are around every half an hour.

The level crossing is one of the worse, being constantly on for good minutes before any train passing.
Then the c2c service at Purfleet station is not one you can call reliable as train drivers don’t give much of a toss about the timetable, often seeing the trains leaving 1-2 minutes before the due time, meaning half an hour wait for the next train.
And parking costs more than some of the ones in London. £9.30 for the day, it’s a ripoff.

The C2C trains that run at the station are one of the most reliable lines in the country with very few delays. Do check times of travel on holidays and weekends as there is often rail works with replacement buses in place, so it can affect travel time. Replacement buses do not stop at the station itself so go to the bus stop near the Purfleet Primary School.

Platform 1 for trains towards London and 2 for trains towards the east

You can also use your oyster card/ contactless at this station towards London or for one stop towards the east (Gray's train station) if you don't want to buy a ticket.

Pleasant station with semi-rural atmosphere. Half-hourly services in each direction and plenty to keep waiting passengers amused, including level-crossing at southern end of platforms and regular passing freight trains. Ticket office (not always open), toilet and small car park on westbound side. Parking here and in immediate vicinity of station extremely limited. Good wheelchair access.

The level crossing was down for 15 minutes before a train came! The shortest I've ever seen has been 5 minutes. The train is probably not even at the previous station by that point.

As a company owner and van driver I hardly get on public transport but today at purfleet station at around 10am the lady at the ticket office and the guy on the platform went that extra mile without hesitation to help even righting down the correct information thanks for making my journey quick and easy keep up the good customer service.
