Wow. This lock is majesty, the Mona Lisa of regional canal infrastructure. It is somehow spacious and inviting, yet intimate and exclusive. Definitely a highlight of our trip, would lock again!

Okay first off, I would say that some of the reviews for this lock are misleading and more about the canal than the lock, HOWEVER. If you JUDGE ONLY THE LOCK then boy howdy, it's a slam dunk, 10-out-of-10 top lock. Felt very structurally secure as I walked across. I've also heard that there's a 5-star weir nearby (for you weir-dos out there), but the stinging nettles were too proliferate and my partner was wearing shorts ?

Will be visiting again.

Honestly my favourite lock. Best one I've seen in the UK by far. Lack of blue plaque for the designer is a crying shame.

Not a lot there, its a lock on a canal. However it is green, peaceful and a nice walk. Walk further on and look at the Otter pub and wish you was on the otherside!
