Well not sure where to start. I applied for a blue badge for my 87year old mother, who cannot walk above 5 minutes without stopping, she has poor eyesight, walks with a walking stick has two false knees and hips, and surprise she does not meet the criteria!!! Do you have to be dead before the criteria is meet. What a joke! I have witnessed on many occasions people with blue badges running and skipping.
I wonder if they happen to have a family member working in the blue badge section. Moving forward I will be suppling further evidence to back the application. Hope the person who made the decision can sleep at night.

They advertise that they’ve received 4.6 billion for vulnerable households to assist with household goods. Their household goods consist of old appliances (they’ve probably recycled for free) that they make you submit an application for and submit all types of documents for their old, used trash. What have they done with the 4.6 billion? At least in Scotland one is given brand new household goods, and in Belfast if one is injured or housebound the Foodbank brings bags of healthy groceries including fresh fruit and vegetables to your place; under the Durham County Council, they knowingly leave eligible people to starve.

Disgraceful Council to deal with. The most outdated unrealistic policies. Forcing a council tax bill on a property I had no access to all because the tenant lied and said they moved out. I have all the evidence required to confirm this but they are unwilling to do anything because there process states ‘always take the tenants word for when they say moved out’

A council in the business of making military veterans homeless. Those who have given much to protect the freedoms and privileges that most take for granted. However if I was a migrant, then well everything would available, to those who don't belong in England, not from this land. Disgusting and disgraceful people.

Spent the last few weeks going through the application process to obtain a Hackney Carriage Driver's Licence. The staff at Annand House in Meadowfield could not have been better and made a rigorous and stressful time the best it could be. One lady in particular was consistently professional, helpful and supportive, it's a rare thing these days. Thanks to the Licensing Department 🙂

Absolutely appalling council. Extortionate council tax rates, continuously making mistakes with my council tax account which has now led to me being threatened and expected to pay almost £600 in two months. No empathy, no apologies - absolutely awful. Pushing families into poverty because of their incompetence.

They opened gym after lockdown and started taking gym fees from my account, even though both of us rejoined and paying for new membership so we paid double until we realized,
A pathetic wooly public email was the only warning , and other people got caught out not just us .

When l contacted the council sport and leisure we hit a brick wall , absolutely horrendous that even though we paid twice they wouldn’t refund us for our other memberships

They’d rather lose us as potential customers for the next 20 years than refund us which was absolutely ridiculous business sense from the management, snotty pathetic greedy pointless waste and loss of two otherwise happy members ,

Those in higher office should take a serious look at how much the management lost financially, either that or there was a large number of people caught out and it would cause huge problems refunding everyone
