Apart from the amount this taxi cost it was a really nice journey.
Although completely my own fault for getting the wrong bus in the first place.
The driver Karl was really chatty. And got me home at least an hour before the bus would have. Well done Karl.

Don't even attempt to get good service if you're in Durham.
I booked a taxi over 3 hours before it was needed.
At the time it was due, I got a message to say it was on the way. The tracking showed it was still a distance away.
One minute later, message that it had arrived. No sign.
I rang, the driver hadn't a clue how to get to me. Then it became farcical.
Eventually he arrived, complaining that he was from Newcastle and we shouldn't expect to be able to get a taxi 'just like that'.
I explained that it had been booked hours before and he told me that Durham folk can't expect good service as most of the drivers are Newcastle based.
"Nearby" ?
I then had to provide step by step instructions for the journey. However, when he started chatting about threatening (graphic details) a student who'd been bolshy about paying I got him to drop me off immediately.

Never, ever again will I use this company.

I’ve always used Consett Cars, because they have always been extremely reliable and I’ve always found the drivers friendly and good craic.
Today, an error on the app location, sent the driver to the edge of a small estate, next to the obscure hospital entrance where I was waiting. The app enabled me to ring the driver, who went considerably out of his way to get straight to me.
I was in considerable pain, so the driver’s kindness was much appreciated.

Taxi driver was nice, drove exceptionally and unnecessarily slow…22mph with nothing in front or behind? Meter stood at £10.50 upon leaving the vehicle but was charged £12.40 when checking bank! There was no waiting time as I was stood waiting for him. I want to pay what the meter says, not a made up charge. Other taxis state a price, that’s what you pay, they don’t then add on extras once you’ve left the vehicle. Will not be using this service again. Very disappointed.

My journey was picked up by this company in partnership with my local firm, the taxi driver was very impatient, even driving away from me whilst i had a hold of the car door handle, he arrived at the wrong address (opposite cul-de-sac) then was very rude asking WHERE DID YOU COME FROM, where i repeated the same address - like this was my fault. He was also irritated that my house wasnt on the main road (never claimed it to be) he obviously didnt want to pick this job up, when he could of passed it to a more friendly driver with a better attitude. Left me feeling very unnerved

Recently I had a wonderful experience with this company's service.
I had a longer journey, around 2 hours.
I was with my 7-year-old daughter.
We felt safe and comfortable.
The driver - Ari, was very polite and respectful. Arrived on time.
