Recently purchased a Mercedes A250 from these guys. The process was straight forward. After a couple of days into ownership a battery fault warning appeared on the dash. They happily took the car back and sorted the issue by replacing both batteries. Good communication all the while and even gave us petrol money back to cover what they used whilst road testing when we collected it. Would definitely recommend them to anyone.

I went in for an MOT yesterday that was prebooked online. The car failed on four points. One being an issue with my lights which I thought was odd. Later that night I went to drive shop to find the battery on my car had died. Confused as my battery had been fine prior I noticed my headlights where flicking on and off. This has never happened prior to having an mot with them
My car is now worse off then when I went in. Really upset about this experience & will not be using them ever again!! AVOID AVOID AVOID!

My daughter brought a audi A1 about a year ago and has regretted ever since. After an injector bolt snapping and pouring diesel everywhere, breaking down on a major road costing £200 recovery, they collected the car ,fixed it and brought it back. Since then nothing but trouble. I GOT a proper mechanic to do the next job after the actual injector failed. COSTING Me £500.. after he said there where seals missing and bolts not torqued up properly. The garage stopped replying and refused to pay the £200 recovery charge...Do not use this garage..bodging cowboys.

I booked in a MOT on Saturday for my friend. This was prebooked online. (You’ll see my friends review here)

The car failed on four points. They said an issue was the lights which was strange (never had an issue). Drive back is fine, take car to the shop. Car isn’t starting.. battery dead!! ? . Car has been fine before taking to garage. My friend also noticed the headlights were flicking on and off, I saw this too and found is really unusual. This is the FIRST TIME happening prior to having a mot with them.
The car is now unusable… worse that he’s taken it in to the garage. Really dissatisfied about this experience, seeing people have given these 5 stars… is weird… I will not be recommending them ever!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR IN.

Brilliant service, a massive thank you to Ash and the team for the service. After a blow out on a dangerous part of the M1! We were escorted by AA to the garage, Ash immediately helped by placing a new tyre on the car, after we explained we were on the way to the airport to catch a flight! The white polo they have on sale has rust on various parts. They photoshopped the photos so you can't clearly see it. When questioned they act like they don't understand English. Total scammers

Do not recommend Houghton motors.

I bought a SEAT Ibiza from here a month ago, car was great, at a bargain price. I asked for it to be serviced by them prior to buying it and I was only handed an invoice, no official paperwork to show proof of service!
I then had a sudden cease of air conditioning, suspecting it needed more refrigerant I took it back and they re-gassed it under warranty. Next day, no air con. Must be a leak. Took the car back yesterday and after one hour was called to say car was ready. Didn’t give a reason to why it was broken, only repeated me when I asked if it was a loose gasket. Got back in my car the next day, no air con. So leak was never fixed, presumably not even found, and system just re-gassed again.

Before leaving the premises I asked about whether the car had an oil filter change, as per my request of a service prior to me purchasing the car, was assured it did but I pointed out the filter looked particularly dirty considering it was ‘new’ the gentleman became agitated and hostile telling me to take my vehicle to VW if I want it checked. He walked away and thanked me, bluntly. He told me why would they promise to do something and not do it - well because my air conditioning is still broken after my 2nd visit so I highly doubt your word! Overall terrible experience, incredibly unprofessional & can’t do a simple job right.
