The Hosts are friendly, helpful and accommodating, the breakfasts were good, the coffee/tea in the rooms were replenished and the bins emptied etc. However cleanliness and maintenance need some attention, especially in the bathroom we used. |Horning is lovely place and as for parking, you can pay or hope a free spot opens up. I would recommend the Swan Inn for food.

Full marks all round for a wonderful bed & breakfast. We stayed in the Garden Room for 2 nights & throughly enjoyed all thatThe Moorhen Guest House had to offer. Super comfy & roomy bed, good shower & delightful room setting. The breakfast choices & quality of food on offer is fabulous. Josie's homemade yoghurt is delicious. The hosts are very friendly & nothing is too much trouble. They seem to really enjoy their life as B&B hosts. Looking forward to returning soon.

we stayed in the Coot Cabin on a recent trip up to a local attraction. It was perfect for our needs. slept all 5 of us in a very nice clean and welcoming space. Neil and Josie welcomed us when we checked in and showed us to the room. Breakfast the next morning was great. filled us up for the next days adventure. the kids have not stopped going on about the scrambled egg!! Defiantly recommend this place. will be looking to book again if we head up to this stunning part of the country.

Neil and Josie are the perfect hosts - welcoming, full of help, serving a wonderful breakfast. Neil helped us to organise bike and boat rental.
The garden room was nice, wonderful to rest in the garden and enjoy the afternoon sun after a day full of activities.

We can only recommend that the service from the owners was excellent,rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was one of the best we have had anywhere. Thank you for a brilliant stay.

Difficult to add to what has already been said but this really is an excellent place to stay, so why is the Moorhen a cut above the competition? Well to start with the rooms are that bit bigger as are the beds, the bathrooms and the shower cubicles. Then, everything is spick and span and spotlessly clean with nice attention to details, the inclusive breakfast menu is wide ranging, tasty and all served hot like it was cooked for you, and finally the hosts have that happy knack of being both attentive and giving you your space. It’s great!

We spent a wonderful three days at the Moorhen with my dog and couldn't have bee looked after any better. The owners were really lovely, breakfast perfect, anything you want, and always there to help with local knowledge and provide anything you wanted. Would definitely go back again.

Gorgeous place to stay. Neil and Josie are so welcoming and the accommodation is bright, extremely clean and very well maintained.
Gorgeous breakfast in the morning before we departed. Highly recommended and we will use it again.
