A superb, traditional pub full of character and situated in a charming village.
The staff were welcoming, the table service especially. Really friendly, personable and attentive.
The traditionally based menu alongside specials contained all the pub favourites with a plenty of options.
I went for the ham and cheese ploughman which included apples, pickled onions, Branston, olives, perfect boiled eggs, a tasty salad and a warmed baguette.
My friends went for hullumi salad, salt and pepper crispy chicken and a goat cheese and caramelised onion tart.
Whilst is it great to see three handpulls on offer, they were all Greene King..IPA, Abbott and a fake Moorlands, a brewery which no longer exists. It would be lovely to see a genuine a guest beer or beers on offer.

Highly recommend, we stopped here a few weeks ago on a Saturday evening as a family (5 of us) unannounced. Despite the fact they were very busy they managed to accommodate us, the staff were warm and friendly, the ambience in the restaurant bar was nice. The food was lovely, between us we had the sea bass, half a duck, haddock and chips and the chicken platter. If you are looking for a country style pub with good food, good beer and a warm welcome then this place gas to be a consideration, although I would recommend booking in advance. Just one thing to make people aware, there us a second bar area with a pool table and general seating, this didn't have any affect on our experience but I know some people on might see that and fear the worst. The landlord was friendly and has been in the industry for years having chatted to him, and both his wife and himself are chefs. Worth a try.

Absolutely fantastic pub, tucked away in a small village with a big heart. Everything was exceptional, including the food. It is a real gem, and the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars for food is because if it waned to, it could push for Michelin stars im sure. Hencethe reason I'm beingso harsh. However, it needs to stay as it is for its surroundings. We'll done.

We dined here last Thursday, after turning up early we sat and had a drink in the bar area. However, I imagine if they are fully booked this wouldn't be as possible as it looks like they use the bar for over flow restaurant reservations. But they do have an inviting looking courtyard outside which would be perfect in the summer months.

Having enjoyed our first drinks we ordered 3 of the nibbles before ordering our food selection. The standout for me was the buttermilk chicken with the smoked chilli mayonnaise. Such a simple dish done outstandingly well and the rest of the meal followed the same suit.

The menu isn't vast but I would say there is something for everyone & whatever you order I don't think you'd be disappointed.

The restaurant space was warm and friendly, the tables neatly spaced and for a Thursday night in late April the restaurant had a wonderful buzz to it.

Already excited to return here in the future.

Since the pub was taken over again by Paul and Debbie, it is honestly one of the nicest pubs I’ve visited. Incredible food (especially the lasagna) friendly and very safe atmosphere. Pool table, darts and fruit machine. A great local family friendly pub!

We were on our way to Harwich International Port for the night ferry. The Kings Arms is 2 miles off the route and is a perfect place for dinner.
The interior is beautifully decorated and has a very nice feel.
The staff were very friendly, always smiling and smartly dressed.
The double cheeseburger and fish & chips with a chocolate cremeux dessert were delicious - this was a great find.
